Meanwhile, fellow Smiling Friends employee Alan (Cusack) takes it upon himself to get to the bottom of the office's bliblie infestation after his precious cheese goes missing from the breakroom.

The quest takes them all over the city, from Pim's family home, to a random house party, to an amusement park called Daveland. Pim and Charlie are tasked with cheering up a suicidal man named Desmond (Mike Stoklasa). The pilot follows Pim (Cusack) and Charlie (Hadel), two employees at Smiling Friends Inc., a company dedicated to making people happy. Its Steam page has a trailer I can't embed here, so go there. The original Smiling Friends pilot, titled "Desmond's Big Day Out," first aired on Adult Swim on Apas part of the programming block's annual April Fools Day event. The game's due this autumn, published by Adult Swim Games. Podunkian' Lee, who you might remember from Dungeon (made with Cactus) and a load of spoof games.

If you snuff it, hey, the next Waster who comes along will claim it. It has permadeath, as roguelikelikes will, but does have persistent progression in the form of a home you upgrade and decorate. Along with super-murdering everyone, you can play stealthier. You'll also want to grab TP, as it can be useful for trading with wasteland dwellers. Irradiated booze is very important, giving you mighty hangovers and mutations, helping you to raid harder and get your next drink. Wasted is a roguelikelike FPS (or TPS, but pssh) sending you raiding 'Coolers' (no, not Vaults) in search of weapons, ammo, armour, and booze. Take one measure of Fallout, two measures of Borderlands, and half a pint of advocaat, stir in your mouth with your own tongue, spit out into a gravy boat, and serve. Have a look at Wasted, a roguelikelike shooter which runs on booze and is coming this autumn. So you might as well fix yourself up a little drink, have a bevy or two, and enjoy the post-apocalyptic future.
